Zonal Rounds

Dear Senior Participants, 

Please login with the zoom link for the Individual round 10 minutes before 9 am on 28th October, 2023 and wait in the waiting room. We will start the competition at 9 am sharp. Please remember to keep your videos on and mics off when you join the Individual Round. Please visit the students' venue page for the zoom links (This zoom link will work on 28th October, 2023). 

Please check the Registration List which will be active by 15th October, 2023 to confirm your spot in the Zonal Round. You need to rename your self when you join the zoom meeting as per the code given in the list next to your name. It is essential that you use the Team Code from this list while answering the questions via google form for the Team Round.

ZONAL ROUND INSTRUCTIONS

Zonal Round is the qualifier rounds which will be held on 28th October, 2023 at 9 am (IST), from which the top 50 teams from all the 4 zones in India and International Zone will be selected for the Final Round of Infinity on 11th, 12th and 13th January, 2024

A team of 3 students from Grade 9 or 10 can register for this competition. Multiple teams from one school can register. 

Zonal Round is divided into two parts, details of which can be found below.

  1) Clash of Mathematicians  (Individual)

  2) Math Challengers (Team)

Top 2 winners of the individual round in each zone will be awarded "Zonal Mathematician of the year". 

Top 50 teams will be chosen from the zonal round, and will be given a platinum ticket to enter the Final Round.

Top 2 teams in each zone will be awarded "Zonal Math Challengers of the year". 

Questions will be based on simple topics rather than requiring knowledge of more advanced topics that are not commonly taught at this age. Questions will include number theory, algebra, shape and measure, geometry, trigonometry, probability, and statistics. These questions are designed to bend and stretch the student’s mathematical knowledge.

Please Register in the appropriate zone. Registering in the wrong zone could lead to disqualification.

CLASH OF MATHEMATICIANS (Individual Round)

Number of questions: 30

Time: 60 minutes

Answers will have to be typed in the google form. The answers will be integers.

Marking:

·        4 marks for each correct answer

·        0 marks for each wrong/no answer.

Difficulty Level: Difficult questions based on above topics. No knowledge of advanced topics required.

Style: Students will be given a set of 30 problems on a Google form. These will be multiple choice questions. Students have to choose the correct option. 


Math Challengers (Team round)

Number of questions: 10

Time: 60 minutes

Marking:

·        10 marks for each correct answer

·        0 marks for each wrong/no answer.

Difficulty Level: Difficult questions based on above topics. No knowledge of advanced topics required.

Style: Each team will be put in zoom breakout rooms. Team will be given a set of 10 problems arranged in increasing order of difficulty as a pdf so you can work collaboratively as a team through zoom. The answers will be in integers and will have to be entered in the google form which you will get access during the competition.
