Invitation to INFINITY

From the CHairperson's desk

Infinity is the ultimate Math Championship organised annually by Aditya Birla World Academy, in association with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Since its inaugural edition in 2014, Infinity attracts top notch brains not only from India but also from overseas. With every passing year, the popularity of this enigmatic competition has been growing among students.

The competition aims to develop the analytical skills and thinking ability of students, whose value far transcends Mathematics. This constitutes the most effective way of discovering and nurturing mathematical talent, and to help students combat the wrong notion that Math is a difficult or tedious subject. The great philosopher Aristotle once said, “The mathematical sciences particularly exhibit order, symmetry, and limitation; and these are the greatest forms of the beautiful.” It is this same sentiment that resonates with the philosophy behind Infinity. The participation has grown exponentially over the years, from only Mumbai-based schools participating to national schools and now international schools too. Now, it has become a Global Mathematics Championship.

I hope this community grows every year and propagates the passion for Mathematics. I wish all the students and their teachers the very best learning experience!

Welcome to Infinity 2024, the annual Inter-School Mathematics Competition organized by Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA) . We are thrilled to have high school students from schools across India and overseas taking part in this exciting event since its inception in 2014.

As a partner institute of Infinity, BITS Pilani is actively involved in co-creating challenging and enriching content and strategies with ABWA's Mathematics teachers. Our aim is to foster a love for Mathematics within the teacher-student community across schools. By engaging in multiple rounds of various types of content, we hope to ignite your interest and passion for Mathematics during this 2-day healthy competition.

Over the years, Infinity has grown from its humble beginnings with local participants to a national and international competition. This year, due to the increased number of participating schools, we have decided to hold the competition at zonal levels initially, and the top few teams will then advance to the final competition. We believe that this change will provide an opportunity for more students to showcase their skills and talents.

Infinity is not just about winning; it is about nurturing your love for the subject and encouraging you to approach problem-solving innovatively. Our hope is that this experience will empower you to succeed in your future endeavours, both in mathematics and in life.

Once again, I extend a warm welcome to all participants. May Infinity 2024 be a memorable and enriching experience for each one of you. Embrace the challenge, enjoy the journey and let your passion for mathematics shine through.
